Max Ozkural serves as Principal & Head of Capital Markets at DWG Capital Partners, where he holds General Partner ("GP") participation rights for the Great American NNN Sale Leaseback Fund I, while maintaining senior leadership responsibilities in connection with the capital formation and capital markets activities of DWG Capital Partners.
Prior to joining DWG, Max has served as Chief Investment Officer of SM Capital, Inc., where he's responsible for overseeing the arranging of both debt and equity financing, while solidifying relationships with key capital sources. During his tenure, Max helped engineer the firm's collaborative culture that led to success implementing solutions for the most complex transactions.
Max's expertise in finance and capital markets links back to his investment banking experience working in Manhattan's financial district. Most recently at Oppenheimer & Co. (OPY), where he engaged in the analysis of alternative investments such as hedge funds, private equity funds, private credit, and non-traded real estate investment funds. Prior to Oppenheimer, Max worked on the US Commercial Real Estate Debt (CRED) team for AllianceBernstein Holding L.P. (AB) where he managed credit underwriting and financial analysis, evaluating new investment opportunities across various asset types within target markets and industry sectors.
Max completed his undergraduate studies at the Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in finance and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia Business School at Columbia University.
Outside of his capital advisory roles, Max serves as Editor of REI Market Research, a publication that distributes proprietary research across multiple platforms, in addition to individual collaborations with partners to perform tailored research services for real estate investment firms. Additionally, Max is active in leadership roles within the community, serving on the board of directors for numerous non-for-profit organizations.

Leads institutional capital raising, investor relationship management, and the structuring of debt and equity solutions across DWG's commercial real estate portfolio. Responsibilities include deal origination, portfolio construction, LP communications, and building strategic relationships with family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and institutional allocators.
Oversaw the arranging of debt and equity financing for complex commercial real estate transactions. Managed capital source relationships across the institutional lending landscape, led deal structuring and underwriting, and helped engineer the firm's collaborative advisory culture. Assisted in capitalizing a real estate private equity fund while leading origination across $3B+ in transactions.
Engaged in the analysis and due diligence of alternative investment products including hedge funds, private equity funds, private credit strategies, and non-traded real estate investment trusts. Contributed to $1.5B in AUM growth through alternative investment portfolio construction and comprehensive investment committee presentations.
